What We Do at Green Grow
1. Growing own vegetables on campus.
2. Collaborating with nurseries to learn.
3. We promote recycling of waste.
4. We seek to encourage agripreneurship
5. We connect with communities.
Why it matters
Green Grow is vital because we don’t just teach theory, we cultivate real-world impact. We are simultaneously tackling food security, promoting environmental stewardship through recycling, fostering the next generation of agripreneurs, and building stronger, healthier communities. By integrating hands-on learning with expert collaboration and ethical business practices, we are growing more than vegetables; we are growing sustainable futures and skilled, civic-minded leaders.
Our rallying cry
Born from WSU’s 2024 World Food Day campaign and the #StretchMyRand movement, GreenGrow scales up a simple idea: small, smart choices compound. From R100 shopping challenges to balcony tomato trellises, we turn everyday constraints into creative problem-solving and community impact.
